About

I am a Portuguese general dentist with an international professional background and a particular interest in minimally invasive, biocompatible, and technology-enhanced dentistry.

After graduating from Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Porto, I moved to Amsterdam, where I lived and worked for 14 years. During that period, I completed a PhD focused on biocompatible dental materials at Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) and developed my clinical approach within an international and multidisciplinary environment that continues to shape the way I practice today.

My clinical philosophy combines evidence-informed decision making with individualized patient care, with the goal of creating a calm, thoughtful, and transparent treatment experience.

I completed SMART certification through the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology), with training in safety-oriented protocols for amalgam filling replacement. Alongside this area of interest, I also work with Fotona laser applications and maintain a strong interest in digital dentistry and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into diagnosis and treatment planning.

I additionally hold advanced training in forensic odontology and have pursued further studies in acupuncture applied to dentistry, reflecting a longstanding interest in the broader relationship between oral health, systemic health, and patient well-being.

Having lived and worked abroad for many years, I understand how language and cultural differences can influence the healthcare experience. I speak Portuguese, English, Dutch, and Spanish fluently, and I aim to create an environment where patients feel listened to, informed, and comfortable throughout their treatment journey.

Above all, I believe modern dentistry should combine scientific rigor, technical precision, and human communication in equal measure.
